The latest addition to the Netflix family is the first movie under the Black Mirror banner titled Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.

An interactive adventure movie, the film encompasses thrilling storylines in a game book type of format where choices that the viewer makes results on how the story unfolds. The watchers are given two choices and ten seconds to choose from two alternatives, some choices inconsequential and others dire. Failing to choose sends the user on a random path down the tale.

The same concept had been tried by Netflix on the kids’ movie Puss in Boots: An Epic tale Unfolds, which followed a similar game-like style, and has now brought it in front of a more mature audience.

Set in computers in 1984, he basic storyline is that of a young programmer, Stefen Butler (Fionn Whitehead), who develops a game based on a book, Bandersnatch, that belonged to his late mother.

The film comes with five different endings. A viewer taking the shortest route, without any do-overs, can make it through the film in 40 minutes. The average user time to watch the movie so far has been clocked at 90 minutes. But there is at least one route which would take the viewers two and a half hours to complete watching the film.
